Why you might ask?
Emergency Clinics are fully equipped to provide emergency services and critical care when we at Highland Veterinary Hospital are unavailable. The service provides prompt relief from injuries and ailments that may or may not be life threatening, but are causing your pet discomfort and you concern.
All hospitalized patients and their records are transferred to your regular veterinarian for continued care during normal business hours. Most important the Emergency Clinics staffed at ALL times by experienced emergency veterinarians and staff. A minimum of one doctor and technician are on site during ALL open hours. Your beloved pet will be monitored continuously through the night or weekend ensuring the highest quality care during their time of need.
What is an Emergency?
An emergency is a sudden illness or accident. It is any unforeseen medical problem. Symptoms may include:
- Uncontrollable bleeding, vomiting, or diarrhea
- Injury
- Allergic reaction
- Poisoning
- Inability to urinate
- Bites / Burns
- Pain / Discomfort
- Inability to get up or walk
- Trouble breathing/respiratory distress
- Intoxication or ingestion of foreign objects or substances
- Seizures
